Preview Questions: Organizational Development and Grants

This is our fourth week in our eight part series where we are talking about the competencies evaluated by the Grant Professional Certification Institute.  The GPC credentialing process, or Grant Professional Certification, validates knowledge of and competency in the grants profession through education, experience, professional development, community involvement and a psychometrically sound examination. Unlike a certificate of completion, the GPC is not based upon the completion of an activity or course of study.

  • The creation of GPC was started by the Grant Professionals Association in 1999.
  • The first GPC exams were offered in 2007. Since 2012, the GPC exam is  available through electronic testing.
  • As of December 2013, there are 346 GPCs in 43 of the United States and Ecuador.

Within this competency, grant professionals are expected to have knowledge of organizational development and grants.

Looking for some more information about this competency? Here is a little pre-reading on Competency 4 from the recent GPC Competency Linky Party.GPC Competency Linky Party.

If you have a blog post, e-book or other resource about organizational development and grants that you would like to share with the Grantchat community be sure to have your link ready and share it during the chat!
