Launching: SmartEGrants Blueprints Webinar Series

Some *big* news from SmartEGrants (which #grantchat is a program of) that we wanted to share with the #grantchat community right away! This was originally published earlier today on SmartEGrants site.

Social media (#SoMe) is an increasingly important advancement in grant development and grants management. Many government programs, nonprofits and grant professionals are unsure about how to harness the power of social media to improve grant seeking and grant outcomes.

The power of the #hashtag and the reality of the impact of the mobile world has come to be a reality for grantee as they interact with their communities and funders. Grant seekers now need to face the reality of the trend that their grant funders are now also becoming active in the #SoMe space.

Social media is one tool that is breaking down barriers and opening up opportunities to connect, dialog and build network. Social media is evolving. Social media is no longer trivial. Social media is already transforming philanthropy and advocacy including grant seeking and grant management. Understanding the constantly evolving best practices related to the intersection of grants and social media while maintaining ethics and competencies is critical to being competitive for grant funds moving forward.

This is why we are covering Social Media for Grants in our first month of the SmartEGrants Blueprints Webinar Series.
