Question Preview: Being a Grant Reviewer

We have talked about the different methods for professional development for the grant professional. One of the most hands-on forms of professional development that has been brought up is the benefit of serving on the other side of the grant seeking equation – serving on the grant review/funder side of the process. Our very own #grantchat co-moderator Diane H. Leonard, GPC actually began her career as a Program Officer for a statewide public foundation, The Michigan Women’s Foundation. Whether a formal paid employee position, a board member, a community review committee member or peer reviewer, the benefit to enhancing your grant writing skills is significant. The most frequent questions we get asked about being a grant reviewer is *how* to go about serving in that role, and which are the best grant reviewer roles to pursue as part of your professional development. We will tackle these questions and more on 1/13/15 when we will be joined by Olivia Daugherty (@runwritelaugh) to talk about “Being a Grant Reviewer.”

If you have a blog post or have an article that you would like to share about the concept, we would love for you to do so in the comment section or by using the #grantchat on the social media network of your choice.
