This week on #GrantChat we are exploring the lowdown on maximizing the value of your volunteers. Volunteers are often at the heart of a successful program or event. Often, they help us leverage limited dollars by generously giving of their time and expertise. Grant-seeking organizations often miss opportunities to maximize the value of volunteers. I have seen this happen with many of my nonprofit and public-sector clients. I have also been absolutely data-geek over the moon when I am handed a detailed report by a wonderful volunteer manager. Volunteer management, tracking hours, keeping records, running data, and representing the value of your volunteers to stakeholders and fundraisers isn’t easy – but, it is worth it!
We would love to hear about your programs and how volunteers make a difference for your grant projects. We invite you to share your stories with the GrantChat Facebook group and using the hashtag #grantchat on social media.
We hope you can join us on Twitter at 12 pm noon ET on Tuesday, January 24th.
